Karlie Nelson

Hello! My name is Karlie Nelson. I am very excited to start my teaching career at Kenton Elementary for the 2016-2017 school year. I earned my Bachelor of Education and Human Sciences degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Elementary Education in December of 2015. Before moving to Colorado in May, I had the pleasure of working as a long-term Computer Specialist substitute in Lincoln, Nebraska. Even though I do love my home state of Nebraska (Go Big Red!), my love for the mountains and outdoor adventure lead me to the beautiful state of Colorado. As a Reading Interventionist, my job is to accelerate the learning for every APS student, every day. I do my job by collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to make sure Reading goals for all of my students are being met and designed to best suit their needs. I strive to find and use each child’s strengths, and to create a learning environment where all students feel safe, respected, and valued. My community needs me to do my job.
