Sherry Gesing

Hi my name is Sherry Gesing, I am a paraprofessional at Kenton Elementary. I work in the Diverse Learning Center in our school. I work with a highly qualified team, teaching children with physical and cognitive disabilities. Before I began working for APS I worked as a home Healthcare Provider and an EDDA (extended duties dental assistant). I started working for APS as a Health para substitute, I tried working in a life skills classroom. That`s all it took ! This was the job I want to do for the rest of my life. I have never worked so hard and felt so fulfilled, as I do working with these amazing children. This summer I had the opportunity to work for the ESY program, I worked in a classroom for children with autism such a wonderful experience I learned so much. I am originally from Beverly, Massachusetts. I moved to Aurora, Colorado in 1982 since then I have seen a lot of growth in our City. When I am not working I enjoy cooking, sewing, gardening, crafting, and renovating my home. I am described as a creative homebody by my husband and family. I am looking forward to returning to Kenton and seeing old and making new friends. My job is to accelerate the learning for every APS student, everyday. I do my job by assisting children with special needs in academics, personal, and social skills. My community needs me to do my job.
